The vice-president of the Republic of Bulgaria is a position, established by the Constitution of Bulgaria, and the only vice-presidential office in the European Union (EU).〔Under the current Constitution of Cyprus, there is post of Vice President of Cyprus that is reserved for a Turkish Cypriot, however since December 1963, the Turkish Cypriots have had no participation in the government, thus leaving the post of Vice President vacant since then.〕 The vice-president is elected in a popular vote, along with the president. According to the constitution the vice-president shall be principal assistant to the president in his/her official duties. == Elected by parliament, 1990–1992 == The following vice-presidents were elected by the parliament.
